Libyan Club of Medical Waste is environmental and scientific club founded in 16 June 2003 by Dr Altaher I. Altabet in concerning with medical wastes management in Libyan hospitals and medical centers from generation to disposal and our mission to prove health-care wastes management and to give the public and health-care workers a clear scientific views and documentations about the following:
- definition and characterization of medical wastes.
- Health and environmental impacts of medical wastes.
- Management of medical wastes in Libyan hospitals and other medical centers, such as handling, storage, and transportation of medical waste.
- Methods used for treatment and disposal of medical wastes.
- Quantities of medical wastes generated from health-care activities in Libya.
- Health and safety practices for health-care personal and waste workers.
- Hospital hygiene and infection control.
- Pollution prevention (P2) in Hospital environment.
